Émile GALLÉ (1846 - 1904)
An earthenware tray, model created circa 1880-1884, with the body of a dragonfly, its folded wings forming a central receptacle, and its head and abdomen forming a detached applied side handle. Decorated with dandelions in red, yellow and green enamels on a cream background enhanced with gilding.
Monogrammed with a Lorraine cross, marked "déposé" and signed Émile Gallé à Nancy on the reverse.
Height 11 cm - Length 24 cm - Depth 6 cm

History: a similarly shaped storage tray is preserved in the collections of the Musée de l'École de Nancy (n°inv. TT83.23).
