LE SIDANER Henri, 1862-1939, La chapelle rose, circa 1905 oil on panel, signed lower right, annotated on the back: "Le Sidaner, Les Ruines de la Chapelle, Au poète Jean Ott en amical souvenir", 24x18.5 cm. PROVENANCE: Given by the artist to Jean Ott (1878-1935), it has remained in the family ever since. We would like to thank Mr. Yann Farinaux Le Sidaner for kindly confirming the authenticity of this work. A certificate may be issued at the buyer's expense. HISTORY: Jean Ott was a poet and friend of Henri Le Sidaner, and a member of the Rosati anacreontic society, founded in Arras in 1778 and reactivated on several occasions. Henri Joseph Harpginies was an honorary member, and other painters were close to the society, including Le Sidaner, Aman-Jean, Derain and Gernez.
